West German Bud Vase (c.1965–1975)

A small mid‑century bud vase of baluster form with flared rim and stepped foot, finished in a glossy volcanic “fat lava” glaze. The cream ground is richly mottled with dark brown and black spotting, with a contrasting dark-glazed interior and foot.

Height approximately 10cm. Impressed marks to the base including “G 85” and “I”.

Produced in West Germany during the peak period of post‑war studio ceramics, likely by Scheurich or a related factory.
