Venetian Street Urchin, O. Revelli

A large, 19th-century oil painting depicting a young violinist standing beside a Venetian canal. The composition combines a finely painted figure with glimpses of the city's waterfront, capturing a scene of everyday life in Venice.

Works by O. Revelli sit within the tradition of late nineteenth-century Italian genre painting, when scenes of Venetian street life and local characters were popular with both domestic and international collectors.
