Storm Ahead, M de Watteville (Canada; 20th Century)
£195.00
Storm Ahead, an evocative mid-20th-century oil landscape by M. de Watteville. A colourful meadow is rendered in loose, textured brushwork against the deep blue-grey of an approaching storm, giving this small painting considerable atmosphere.
A period label verso records the title, artist’s name and a Vancouver address, providing an interesting Canadian provenance.
